REPORTING STRUCTURE
The incumbent will report to – Technical Director.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To ensure the latest international specifications are complied with
- To ensure all designs comply with the latest legal requirements
- To keep updated on new technologies and trends within the industry
- To eliminate/mitigate design errors
- To ensure sufficient and suitable resource is available for the tasks in hand
- To ensure correct Quality procedures and instructions are enforced and or updated as required
- To carry out investigations into cost variances, incident reports etc. as required and recommend changes as required
- To make recommendations on systems, design or manufacturing changes to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost benefits
- Attend to design and tender enquiries
- Attend to contractual technical queries from within Morris and Crane Aid
- Attend standards (SANS) meetings related to the industry
- Attend site inspections when required
- Managing of NCR’s related to mechanical design
Non-Engineering Manager Related Tasks:
- Assist in development in standardization of estimates
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Eng./B.Sc. Engineering (Mechanical Discipline)
- Computer Literate
- Microsoft Office
- CAD software
- Needs to be able to be able to walk in the factory
- Needs to be able to go to site and climb on cranes
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in crane and or engineering industry
- Experience of imports and exports will be an advantage
